Job Purpose

  • The Stock Supervisor works within the Store Manager to achieve store goals by processing all inventory transactions accurately and quickly through the implementation of Company

 

Policies and Procedures.

  • The Stock Supervisor takes a proactive approach to business trends and needs, reacting to the needs and deliveries to the store, replenishment, product life cycle and stock take, while acting as a positive role model to store personnel, representing and supporting the Diesel Brand and Values.

 

  • The Stock Supervisor is responsible for continuously improving and developing specific skills by taking ownership of the responsibilities assigned by the Store Manager. 

 

  • The Stock Supervisor partners with Store Managers and uses discretion to maximize efficiency and sales, and with members of the Home Office in Inventory Control department.

 

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

 

PERSONNEL DEVELOPMENT

  • Develops and maintains understanding of all relevant company, store and product information.
  • Partner with the Store Manager to ensure all associates receive the proper induction in all aspects of their job responsibilities. 
  • Follow up on induction given to all new hires, in all aspects of their job responsibilities, including company history, product knowledge and store operations.
  • Provide development and training for the team through the effective and ongoing use of the store training tools. 
  • Identify strengths and areas of development of the stock personnel, promote and encourage their professional development by using tools provided.

CUSTOMER SERVICE

  • Represent and promote to store associates the meaning and the importance of Customer Service as outlined in the Diesel Customer Service book and training program.
  • Empower staff to use best practices in customer service issues.
  • Assist management team with the monitoring of the quality of customer service through Key Performance Indicators.
  • Understands and abides by all Diesel Retail Policies and Procedures.
  • Maintain a positive, professional and customer-centric attitude
  • Supports the Diesel brand image through the Diesel Dress Code policy.
  • Attends all store meetings as directed by management.

MERCHANDISING / CATEGORY MANAGEMENT

  • Maintains all product levels through the daily restock of the sales floor.
  • Communicates product stock level issues to management as appropriate.
  • Communicates product quality issues to management as necessary.

OPERATIONS/LOSS PREVENTION

  • Processes all inventory transactions accurately, in a timely fashion and as per Diesel Inventory Policy and Procedure.
  • Establish and maintain all records of incoming/outgoing shipments, carefully documenting all discrepancies to ensure a proper stock take. 
  • Ensures all product in back-stock is sensored and organized at all times.
  • Follows all store operations opening and closing procedures.
  • Reads and understands all information posted on store communication boards, and in department binders.
  • Performs operational duties as directed by management.
  • Proactively manage any merchandise needs in an effective way.
  • Minimize stock loss by implementing and executing all Control Policies and Procedures.
  • Organize and carry out an accurate stock take by implementing the Stock Take Procedure.  
  • Execute an accurate semi- annual stock take by implementing the Stock Take Procedure, in partnership with the Store Manager.

PEOPLE MANAGEMENT

 

Recruitment and Employee Relations

  • Assist the management team as needed in the recruitment process.

Training

  • Assist the management team as needed in organizing the induction of all new employees, in all aspects of their job responsibilities, including company history, customer service, product knowledge and store operations.
  • Assist the management team as needed in the organization of training for store employees through accurate use of store training programs, specifically the Customer Service “SOS” program.
  • Assist the management team as needed with maintaining high-training standards.

Development & Performance

  • Report to management team the strengths and areas of development for store personnel.
  • Suggest to the management team appropriate action to promote and encourage the Supervisor’s own professional development by using tools and best practices.

Supervision and Organization

  • Assist the management team in promoting a positive, professional and sales-oriented environment and promoting a culture open to internal feedback.
  • Assist the management team as needed in assigning work load appropriately and effectively among store employees.
  • Assist management team as needed in regular store meetings.
  • Organize and lead store meetings as directed by the management team to communicate store targets, priorities, and other relevant subjects.

STORE MAINTENANCE

  • Maintains a clean and organized stockroom at all times.
  • Follows daily and weekly cleaning procedure to ensure department and stores are consistently cleaned to company standards.                                                                                                                                                           

POLICY and LAW COMPLIANCE

  • Inform store personnel about local health and safety laws.
  • Keep store personnel informed about the terms and conditions of employment with respect to work-time regulations and equal opportunity law.
  • Maintain safe working conditions for employees and customers.
  • Follow all company policies.
  • Adhere to all State and Federal Laws.

BRAND PROTECTION

  • Consistently promote and represent Diesel brand values at all times, ensuring the store team understands and communicates them to the consumer.
  • Assist the management team in ensuring that promotions and PR activities are implemented in line with Head Office guidelines.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  • Required to stand and walk for up to eight hours in a workday.
  • Required to lift and or move up to 50 to 60 pounds.
  • Required to be able to engage in the following activities: Bending, stooping, reaching, twisting, grasping, pinching, reaching/lifting above shoulders in a repetitive manner; and work with cleaning solutions.

Salary Range: $21-22 per hour
