Responsibilities:

  • Ensures compliance with customs and federal trade commission regulations for OTB imported goods
  • Manages the importation and classification of OTB goods
  • Exercises discretion and independent judgment in the day to day management over international shipping, customs, deliveries, and invoices, contributing to the overall profitability of the company by managing costs.
  • The main focus of this job role is the performance of activities directly related to the running of the operations department supporting areas of purchasing; importation; research; government relations; regulatory compliance; and similar activities.  The above is the primary focus of your job role (comprising 51%, or more, of your work week)

MANAGEMENT

  • Manages imports to US/CA (TBD)
  • PO, Store fixtures, packaging materials etc.,
  • E-commerce management (Market Place, Canada Compliance in Customs Import/Export)
  • Special Projects, Samples, CARNET
  • Landed Cost calculation and HTS assistance for US & CA
  • Export

FUNCTIONAL PLANNING

  • Plans of day to day and annual work flow
  • Establishes priorities and individual objectives
  • Determines resources and equipment required in function to enable objective achievement.  Submits requests for resources as required.

INBOUND/SHIPPING MANAGEMENT

  • Manages and creates air and ocean freight import documentation for international shipments, including merchandise descriptions, fabric composition assessments, supplier/manufacturer country of origin documentation/requirements, consumer product safety documents, certificates for flammability, etc., and ensures Import Security Filings are submitted on a timely basis, avoiding Federal fines and penalties.
  • Authorizes or declines release of goods & Bill of Lading documents based on analysis of shipping documentation, directing forwarders to pick up goods for OTB entities.
  • Creates Advanced Shipping Notifications in Stealth 3K ensuring proper inventory movement.
  • Establishes and communicates estimated arrival times for goods and processes in S3K
  • Reviews and resolves discrepancies with Commercial Invoice and shipping documentation from Global supply chain, ensuring stringent regulatory compliance
  • Resolves shipping discrepancies in order to facilitate customs clearance and deliveries
  • Creates detailed shipping reports and updates for the Sales and Retail departments, ensuring data integrity
  • Checks daily freight availability ensuring domestic truckers schedule delivery orders on a timely basis
  • Monitors and adheres to changes in international trade laws/guidelines
  • Works closely with Italian counterparts in Headquarters when performing operational activities.
  • Other duties as assigned by Manager

  • Creates detailed shipping reports and updates for the Sales and Retail departments, ensuring data integrity

COMMUNICATION AND COLLABORATION

  • Liaison with domestic truckers and provides daily planning to the 3rd Party Logistics Provider

Qualifications and Requirements :

  • Bachelor’s Degree Preferred
  • 2+ year of Import/Export, Logistics, Operations, or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred.
  • Understanding of Import Operations
  • FTC , CPSC Regulations
  • Excellent written and communication skills
  • Must be a team player able to multitask
  • Must be detail oriented
  • Must be proactive
  • Proficiency in Excel required
  • Knowledge of Italian a plus
