Position Summary
The Operations Manager is responsible for the day-to-day operational excellence of a Diesel retail store, ensuring seamless and branded customer experience while driving efficiency across all in-store functions. This role partners closely with the Store Manager and cross-functional teams to execute operational standards, manage inventory, maintain compliance, and develop a high-performing store team. The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader who thrives in a fast-paced retail environment and leads by example on the floor. Responsibilities
- Oversee and manage all daily operational functions including opening and closing procedures, cash management, and store readiness.
- Ensure consistent execution of company operational standards, visual merchandising guidelines, and brand presentation.
- Lead the coordination of store scheduling, floor coverage, and task delegation to maximize productivity and service levels.
- Manage the store's physical environment, including safety compliance, maintenance requests, and housekeeping standards.
- Serve as Manager on Duty (MOD) as needed, making real-time decisions to support the business and team.
- Oversee receiving, processing, and accurate placement of merchandise in compliance with company procedures.
- Manage cycle counts, inventory audits, and reconciliation processes to maintain inventory accuracy.
- Partner with Retail Operations and Store Manager to identify shrink risks and implement corrective measures.
- Monitor and manage supply and fixture inventory levels to ensure operational continuity.
- Recruit, onboard, and train store associates in operational processes, systems, and customer service standards.
- Provide ongoing coaching, feedback, and performance management to support associate development and accountability.
- Foster an inclusive, high-energy team culture aligned with Diesel's values and people-first philosophy.
- Conduct or support performance reviews, corrective action processes, and recognition programs.
- Champion a service culture that consistently delivers an exceptional, on-brand experience for every customer.
- Address and resolve escalated customer concerns promptly and professionally.
- Identify and implement opportunities to enhance the in-store experience through operational improvements.
- Support the Store Manager in managing controllable expenses, including payroll, supplies, and shrink.
- Monitor key operational KPIs (units per transaction, shrink rate, payroll, etc.) and drive action plans where needed.
- Prepare and communicate operational reports, including inventory results, audit outcomes, and compliance metrics.
- Assist in budget planning for operational needs including supplies, repairs, and store maintenance.
- Identify and resolve any presentation or compliance issues proactively and with a sense of urgency.
- Ensure adherence to all federal, state/provincial, and local employment laws, safety regulations, and company policies, including applicable requirements across U.S.
- Maintain a safe work environment by enforcing safety protocols and conducting regular assessments.
- Complete required compliance training and ensure team members are current on all mandatory trainings.

Qualifications
Â
- Minimum of 5+ years of retail operations management experience
- Proficiency in inventory management software, SAP, Excel and knowledge of RFID system is a plus
- Demonstrated ability to lead, develop, and hold accountable a team of 10 or more associates.
- Strong understanding of retail inventory management, POS systems, and back-of-house operations.
- Proven track record of executing operational initiatives and driving results in a metrics-driven environment.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize competing demands.
- Strong communication skills — written, verbal, and interpersonal.
- Proficiency in retail management systems.
- Experience in specialty retail, outlet, or off-price retail environments.
- Familiarity with loss prevention practices and inventory audit processes.
- Experience managing store operations across multiple selling categories (apparel, footwear, accessories).

- Full-time position requiring open availability including evenings, weekends, and holidays as dictated by the needs of the business.
- Ability to stand for extended periods, lift up to 40 lbs., and perform physical tasks associated with retail store operations.
- Frequent movement throughout the sales floor and stockroom.
- Strong project management and change management skills with the ability to prioritize in a fast-paced environment.
